Description

To explore the clinical value of serum hyaluronic acid (HA), type III precollagen(PC-III), type IV precollagen (IV-C), and laminin (LN) in patients with chronic liver diseases. The serum levels of HA, PC-III, IV-C and LN were determined by RIA in 578 patients with chronic liver diseases. The results showed that the serum levels of HA, PC-III, IV-C and LN in patients with chronic liver diseases were positively correlated with the severer degree of chronic liver disease. The serum HA, PC-III, IV-C and LN reached highest level on the stage of hepatic cirrhosis. The changes of these serum markers were corresponding with the severer degree of chronic liver disease. The serum HA, PC-III, IV-C and LN could be regarded as markers in the diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis in the patients with chronic liver diseases. (authors)
