Public Acceptance A Threefold Application of Social Psychology to Enhance People's Acceptance of Nuclear Energy

Creators

  • 1. Korean Women's Development Institute, Seoul (Korea, Republic of)

Description

It provides three aspects of application of social psychological theories and methodology. The first aspect deals with the study of people's attitudes toward nuclear energy; the second with the development of programs in order to promote people's acceptance of nuclear energy; and the third with the measurement of the effectiveness of the programs that have been implemented to promote the public acceptance. In Korea, very few studies have been conducted to explain people's attitudes toward nuclear power. The existing data tell US that the public attitudes are generally favorable. Would they stay that way? The outlook is not very bright, considering the rapid growth of the environmental movement in Korea
