Changes of approaches to evaluation of durability and strength of power equipment vessel components are analysed from the middle of 60th up to the present. Data on application of fracture mechanics concepts to solution of the problem of reliability of steam boiler drums and steam turbine vessels as well as boiler fittings are considered
