Investigation of impurity core-valence luminescence in mixed sodium-cesium chloride

  • 1. L'vovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Lvov (Ukraine)

Description

Emission characteristics of mixed sodium-cesium chloride compounds are studied using X-ray and photoexcitation by synchrotron radiation Luminescence peaked at 4.5 and 5.2 eV with the decay constant τ = (1.48 ± 0.05) us is found to emerge under excitation by photons with the energy of above 14 eV. This emission is attributed to impurity core valence luminescence (CVL) caused by radiative recombination of 3pCl-discussed in terms of the cluster model of CVL
