Hydrodynamics and masstransfer in models of fast fission reactor fuel assemblies completed by ribbed fuel rods

Description

Hydrodynamics and mass transfer in fuel assemblies of fast fission reactors are considered. Fuel rods are spaced by two-rib wrap, values of rod's specific step are 1.252 and 1.325. The experimental data on pressure drop coefficient and coolant mixing intensity in assemblies are presented. The experiments were performed using 37-rod models of fuel assemblies. Using the methods of computational fluid dynamics the preliminary numerical simulation was carried out and the relationship between geometric characteristics of assemblies and model hydraulic characteristics were established

Abstract (Russian)

Рассматривается гидродинамика и массообмен в пучках стержневых твэлов энергетических реакторов, дистанционированных двухзаходным трапециедальным спиральным оребрением с относительными шагами 1,252 и 1,325. Представлены экспериментальные данные о коэффициенте гидравлического сопротивления трения и интенсивности перемешивания теплоносителя в пучках. Эксперименты проводили на моделях ТВС, содержащих 37 имитаторов твэл. Методами вычислительной гидродинамики выполнено предварительное численное моделирование и установлена связь между геометрическими характеристиками пучков и гидравлическими характеристиками моделей
