GIS mapping for the assessment of rural disparities: A case study of Rehamna province in Morocco
Creators
Description
Studies of territorial disparities serve to better detect the needs of each region or right-of-way in terms of schools, roads, and connection to drinking water and electricity. Nowadays, geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing tools have facilitated territory management. In this context, our study uses GIS mapping to assess rural disparities in the province of Rehamna. The assessment is based on all the basic data of the province. The results point out the need to install a new methodology capable of describing and reproducing the reality of disparity in such a predominantly rural region for better economic and social harmony.
