The use of solid state detectors for radiation measurements around Egyptian uranium ore
Description
Radiation measurements around a uranium rock; procured from Egyptian uranium exploring mine; were carried out using two solid state detectors: thermoluminescent system (Ca S O4: Dy TLD) and solid state nuclear track detector (C R-39). Certain mining conditions were taken into consideration. Solid state nuclear track detector showed that the concentration of radon gas is a function of air volume and inversely proportional to the distance between the U-rock and the detector.5 fig.,3 tab
