Breast cancer in older women
Description
Breast cancer is still the most commonly diagnosis of all oncology diseases and the leading cause of cancer mortality in women worldwide. In the all world we see, that as the our population ages, the number of patients diagnosed with breast cancer are increased. If breast cancer is a leading cause of death in older women, it might suggest that the benefits of early diagnosis or screening could be important at this age. Breast cancer screening is likewise very controversial in the elderly population of women. There are very few retrospective and prospective studies looking specifically at breast cancer screening in the elderly women. The final results of studies are still not clear. (author)
