Thermodynamic Studies on Solvent Extraction of Th(IV) by Amberlite LA-2, TBP and HDEHP in Toluene from HCl Solutions Containing Arsenazo-III

Description
Solvent extraction studies have been carried out on Th(IV) by Amberlite LA-2, HDEHP and TBP in toluene from aqueous HCI solutions containing Arsenazo-III. The reagent Arsenaxo-III was used for the spectrophotometric determination of the distribution ratio of thorium and its role in the extraction reactions was investigated. The investigation was carried out at 10, 25 and 40±1degree to calculate logKex as well as the thermodynamic functions delta G0, delta H0 and delta S0 of the extraction reactions. The extracted species and the overall extraction mechanisms were evaluated
