Electronegativity of positive ions in the density functional theory

Description
The relation between Mulliken's definition of the electronegativity and the excact electronegativity chi = dE/dN, has been studied using the Density Functional Formalism. It has been found than the differences are smaller than 10% and that Mulliken's prescription defines a relative scale equivalent to the exact one. (orig.)
