Interference pair correlations of γ quanta with close momenta in the model of dipole sources

Description
Pair correlations of γ quanta generated by an intermediate compound system formed as the result of nuclear collisions at an energy below the threshold of production of π0 mesons are considered. It is shown that, under such conditions, it is reasonable to describe γγ correlations using the model of independent one-photon dipole sources. Relations describing the correlations of two unpolarized photons with allowance for the transverse nature of the electromagnetic field are obtained. 12 refs
