Description
Engineering for safety of nuclear power stations is a highly developed process in the western world, which has proven to be very effective in minimizing the risk to the public from nuclear power. It involves developing and selecting concepts and materials, and designing and building and operating nuclear stations so that the likelihood of any accident, which could result in significant increase in radiation exposure to living organisms, is acceptably small
