Aerodynamic investigation of inlet and outlet gas chambers of the steam generator for the VGR-50 reactor

Description

A test rig is used to study characteristics of inlet and outlet chambers of NPP steam generators for the VGR-50 reactor. Steam generator coil modules have been changed by simulators. Investigations show that unstable vortex motion occurs along the whole length of the inlet chamber, i.e. the whole volume of the chamber takes part in decreasinr nonuniformity of coolant flow distribution. A method for nonuniformity smoothing is suggested. The analysis of the tube bundle outlet flow is carried out. Flow distribution in the tube bundle area is shown to change linearly by a shown to change linearly by a radius: the closer is the periphery (i.e. the chamber outhet), the higher is the flow rate. The maximum nonuniformity of the flow rate increases, when the resistance of an outlet element decreasing
