Formation of YBa2Cu3O7-σ filament microstructure at metalcontaining polymer synthesis

  • 1. Belorusskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Minsk (Belarus)

Description

The main factors affecting the formation of microstructure and texture of thin 2-10 μm YBa2Cu3O7-σ fibers produced by thermooxidation of carboxylated cellulose polymer salts are investigated. It is shown that the texture in the fibers (c axis is perpendicular to the fiber axis) is formed under recrystallization exceeding 920 deg C. The main reason of its occurrence consists in a spatial limitation of the crystallite growth. It is shown that it is possible to affect the process of YBa2Cu3O7-σ phase crystallization by creating the radial gradient of the main superconductor component distribution in the source fiber. Filamentary YBa2Cu3O7-σ monocrystals (whiskers) are produced on the base of these methods
