Colpocephaly
- 1. Tottori Univ., Yonago (Japan). School of Medicine
Description
Clinical and CT findings were examined in six patients in whom colpocephaly was visualized, but definitive cerebral deformities were lacking on CT. Clinical findings disclosed deformities mainly in the midline of the face in all patients and mental deficiency in 5 patients. CT findings other than colpocephaly were divided into two categories: straight shape of the lateral ventricles (patients with suspected absence of the corpus callosum) and L-shape of the lateral ventricles. However, either type of category was independent of clinical symptoms. These findings suggested that the patients had developmental abnormality of cerebral morphology. (Namekawa, K.)
