The study of factors effecting gravity separation efficiency of AP1000 steam generator

Description
Studying the factors which affect the separation efficiency of gravity separation space is important for designing and manufacturing steam separator with high separation efficiency. According to the mechanism of gravity separation, the vapor-liquid flow in the gravity separation space of AP1000 Delta steam generator was simulated. Based on reasonable simplification and assumptions, geometric model of gravity separation was established. The effect of the changes of the operating parameters and spatial on the separation efficiency of gravity separation space was analyzed with complex calculations by computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The results stated that the carrying of water droplets improved with the increasing of vapor velocity; separation efficiency was improved with the increasing of operating pressure; the velocity of water droplets had little effect on the separation efficiency; the separation efficiency of gravity separation space increased limitedly with the increasing height of the space, water droplets of different diameter corresponded to different hovering height.
