Fluctuations of polarization fields

Creators

Description

Based on microscopic quantum field theory, polarization field fluctuations are calculated for a fast nonrelativistic charged particle moving from vacuum into the bulk solid and for a relativistic particle with the allowance for transverse modes. The derived formula is applicable to vacuum where it turns the values of polarization field fluctuations to zero. 4 refs
