Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin Hamiltonian method and the membrane model

The explicit form of the effective action of the membrane model in the orthogonal gauge is derived using the Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin Hamiltonian method. An extension to the higher-dimensional membrane is also discussed
