Description

Studied is the effect of plastic deformation, gamma irradiation and electron bombardment of Y3Fe5O12 monocrystals on the value of photomagnetic effect (PME) which may be determined according to the change of permeability (μ) of the material under the light exposure. It is established that while gamma quanta and electrons irradiation of Y3Fe5O12 the irreversible decrease of its μ takes place at the temperature of liquid nitrogen at the expense of light-sensitive centers responsible for PME and at the expense of other mechanisms which don't react at the light exposure as well. It is shown that efficiency of the effect of light-sensitive centers on μ of Y3Fe5O12 does not change while disorder of material crystal lattice arising at it irradiation and plastic deformation
