Description
The paper considers theories to account for the relatively high temperature superconductivity in particular ceramic materials. A description is given of the role of Cooper pairs in normal superconductors, as well as the concepts of polarons and bipolarons. The author indicates how bipolarons and other forms of pairing can lead to superconduction at relatively high temperatures. (U.K.)
