The use of radionuclide technique for examining the wear behaviour of components treated on the edges and coated
Description
In the context of a combined project, components in car construction subject to wear are coated with titanium nitride by means of the CVD and PVD process. Their wear behaviour was then to be examined by the joint partners with the aid of radio-nuclide technique. Because the high temperatures of the CVD process require later heat treatment, which the components may only partly experience, experiments on inductive edge layer hardening of these parts were carried out. Im Rahmen eines Verbundvorhabens wurden verschleissbeanspruchte Bauteile des Automobilbaus mittels CVD- und PVD-Verfahren mit Titannitrid beschichtet. Deren Verschleissverhalten sollte nachfolgend von den Verbundpartnern mit Hilfe der Radionuklidtechnik untersucht werden. Weil die hohen Temperaturen des CVD-Verfahrens eine Nachwaermebehandlung erfordern, die aber bei den Bauteilen nur partiell erfolgen durfte, wurden Versuche zur induktiven Randschichthaertung dieser Teile durchgefuehrt.
