Thermal magnetoresistance of crystals of mercury telluride with cadmium
- 1. AN SSSR, Makhachkala. Fizicheskij Inst.
Description
The effect of a magnetic field up to 32k0e on thermal conductivity of Cdsub(x)Hgsub(1-x)Te crystals has been experimentally studied at x (<=) 0.2. Negative values of the thermomagnetic resistance (TMR) effect are obtained for the range from 80 to 400 K. At low temperatures the TMR effect is positive and reaches values much exceeding calculated ones. The phonon drag affects thermal electromotive forces and the Nernst-Ettingshausen effect. The dependence of TMR on the magnetic field strength is nonlinear from 4 to 400 K
