Cross sections for 167° backscattering of 4He from carbon around 4.26 MeV

Description

Highlights: ► The elastic non-Rutherford cross-section for 4He on C is measured. ► The measured data were evaluated with a computer code based on the R-matrix formalism. ► The parameters (spin, position, width) of the 10.356 MeV state in 16O were obtained. - Abstract: The cross section for the non Rutherford elastic scattering of 4He from natural carbon at energies around 4.26 MeV resonance was measured at 167° laboratory scattering angle. The results are presented in both graphical and numerical form. The experimental data has been parameterized in the framework of R-matrix theory. A comparison of our results with similar data reported in the literature is also presented.
