Fuseless LT distribution system for a typical radiochemical plant

  • 1. Waste Management Projects Div., Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

A typical radiochemical plant for treatment of high level nuclear waste has a connected load of approximately 6MVA and a maximum demand to the tune of 4MVA. The loads could be broadly classified into process loads and service loads. Basic philosophy for layout of such plants necessitates physical separation of radiochemical processes from the plant services and hence two separate buildings, the process block (PB) and the service block (SB) are planned for such plants. Major electrical loads consisting of process equipment and ventilation equipment are located in process block
