A study of the 12C(α,8Be)8Be reaction in the energy range Esub(α)=17-33MeV
Description
Excitation functions and angular distributions for the 12C(α,8Be)8Be reaction were measured for Esub(α)=17-33MeV. Only broad structures were observed, except for a narrow resonance at Esub(α)=22-30MeV. Total an L-partial cross sections are deduced from the angular distributions. Below Esub(α)=20MeV no J=8 resonance was found. For higher energies and L=8 contribution appears, increases gradually, and becomes dominant at and above Esub(α)=23MeV. A tentative interpretation of the behavior of 12C(α,8Be)8Be partial cross sections is given in the framework of the Hauser-Feshbach formalism

Pour la reaction 12C(α,8Be)8Be des fonctions d'excitation et des distributions angulaires ont ete mesurees pour Esub(α)=17-33MeV. A l'exception d'une resonance situee a Esub(α)=22-30MeV on n'a observe que de grosses structures. Des valeurs de sections efficaces totales et partielles ont ete deduites des distributions angulaires. En dessous de E sub(α)=20MeV aucune resonance correspondant a J=8 n'a ete trouvee. Pour des energies incidentes plus elevee une contribution correspondant a L=8 apparait et devient dominante a partie de Esub(α)=23MeV. Une interpretation du comportement des sections efficaces partielles est donnee dans le cadre du formalisme de Hauser-FeshbachFiles
