Evaluation of a two-parameter nuclear density by means of pion-nuclear elastic scattering
Description
A two-parameter nuclear density function proposed by Antonov, Garistov, and Petkov with parameters for 16O and 40Ca is compared to other shapes for these nuclei. The comparison is made by calculating pion-nuclear observables and comparing with experiment. The AGP shape, with the reported parameters, is less successful than the other shapes considered. The data fit for the AGP shape can be improved by varying the nuclear shape parameters. (orig.)
