Scattering of α particles in a polarized 3He target at energies E/sub α/ = 55--95 MeV

Description
The angular and energy dependence of the analyzing power A/sub y/ in 3He(α,α)3He scattering have been measured for angles θ/sub c.m.s/ = 48--138 0 at α-particle laboratories energies 55--95 MeV. Calculations of A/sub y/ have been made with use of the phase shifts proposed in analysis of the system A = 7 on the basis of the resonating group method. The experimental data on the energy dependence of A/sub y/ indicate possible resonance states at 7Be excitation energies near 30 and 40 MeV
