Description
Information on slow motions of atomic complexes in proteins and other large molecules can be obtained from X-ray and from Moessbauer type experiments. This paper deals with the information on the motional behavior within macromolecular systems, which is contained in the line intensities and in the line widths observed in such experiments. The particular suitability of the gamma resonance method for studies of structural fluctuations in biomolecules is emphasized. (orig.)
