Experimental work on radio emission from EAS at Haverah Park

Description

The lateral distribution of the air shower radio emission has been measured for over 1,000 showers. After normalisation to correct for differences in shower size and orientation, the measurements fit a common radio lateral distribution function within the experimental errors. Ten showers with anomalously high field strengths occurred during thundery weather. The attempt to study shower fluctuations through radio emission has been abandoned. The frequency spectrum and other properties of the radiation are shown to be in good agreement with theory. (orig.)
