Description
Radio frequency is defined as Electromagnetic radiation in the frequency range of 3 kHz to 300 MHz, whereas Microwaves include 300 MHz to 3000 GHz. Accelerator program at Centre for Advanced Technology (CAT) has many RF and Microwave generating devices. During their testing, commissioning and operation, there is possibility of leakage of RF and MW, which is harmful to working personnel. This paper describes various RF and MW devices at Centre for Advanced Technology, discusses hazards from RF and MW leakage and corrective measures taken to reduce the leakage
