Recent developments in the theory of large transverse momentum processes
Description
The evidence for the ruling out of the basic large p/sub t/ mechanism expected to be related to elementary quark - quark scattering is briefly reviewed and a comparison is presented with the predictions of the constituent interchange model which postulated that the important subprocesses involve quark-hadron scattering. Proton-proton, electron-proton, and pion-proton inclusive interactions are discussed. 30 references
