Health effects of exposure to low levels of ionising radiation -BEIR V
Description
The NRPB comments in outline on the US National Research Council's BEIR V report which considers radiation-induced hereditary disease as well as the effects of radiation on developing embryo and fetus, but focusses mainly on follow-up studies of the A-bomb survivors. Criticism is made by the NRPB author of lack of detailed information on specific tissues and uncertainties about risks at low doses. (author)
