Investigation of interaction between mycelium waste of the antibiotic production and metal ions in solutions
Creators
Description
The possibility of rare earth, yttrium and uranium ion extraction from aqueous solutions using mycelium wastes (MW) of antibiotic production is studied. Behaviour of the ions in inorganic solutions of MW, containing calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, silicon compounds, and in the organic part - lipids, carbohydrates, amino acids and proteins is considered. Sorptional capacity of MW in sulfuric acid solutions in a wide range of concentrations of extracted metals (0.5-5.5 g/l); pH of the medium (0-5.5) and process duration (10-210 min) was studied at the constant ratio of solid and liquid phases S:L=1:500, using the method of mathematical simulation of the experiment. To explain the mechanism of MW interaction with metal ions in solution phase composition of initial MW and MW of various antibiotics calcinated to the constant mass at 700 deg C is studied. The results show that metal ion sorption from solutions is explained by the presence in MW composition of hydroxyapatite. It is proved experimentally that MW organic constituent does not take part in the sorption
