Sintering of TiO2 monodispersed powders

Description

The results of studying sintering of monodispersed powders of large-grained (0.84±0.24 μm) titanium oxide are presented. The use of nonagglomerated monodispersed powders makes it possible to produce dense (to 99.5 % of the theoretically desired value) ceramics with narrow distribution of pores in size using easy technological procedures (cold molding, plaster casting, and sintering at a relatively low temperatures) without preliminary grinding. The structure of ceramics in addition tot he high density obtained makes this material promising for manufacturing porous membranes that can be used in microbiology and medicine. 10 refs.; 5 figs
