Radiotracer determination of intergranular dechromizing on a nickel base alloy in the presence of a steam atmosphere

Description
In order to analyze the singular behavior of chromium during intergranular corrosion of Inconel 600 in superheated steam, the authors suggest a novel method for measuring the first stages of chromium desorption from the boundaries to the surface using chromium 51. This method, which resorts to the conventional mechanics of intergranular diffusion applied to the case of an infinite-solid, makes it possible to compare the measured kinetics with the more conventional ones of grain boundary diffusion

Pour analyser le comportement singulier du chrome lors de la corrosion intergranulaire de l'Inconel 600 dans la vapeur d'eau surchauffee, les auteurs proposent une methode originale pour mesurer, aux premiers stades, la desorption du chrome a partir des joints vers la surface en utilisant du chrome 51. Cette methode, qui fait appel aux mecanismes classiques de la diffusion intergranulaire appliques au cas d'un solide-infini, permet de comparer les cinetiques mesurees a celles plus classiques de la diffusion aux joints des grainsAdditional details
