The hydrogen Balmer spectrum in the near-threshold region: unified semiclassical calculation of line and continuum contributions

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Vysokikh Temperatur

Description

The calculation of the intensity distribution in the transition wavelength region between the line and continuous spectra of hydrogen plasma is presented. In contrast to preceding calculations, the lines and continuum are considered in the same model using a semiclassical approach. Thus the problem of matching thereof does not arise. The intensity distribution in the hydrogen Balmer spectrum is calculated, and comparison is made with experimental data on the emission from dense hydrogen plasma. (author)
