Comments to the interpretation of atmospheric neutrino flux measurement by the Kamiokande detector
Description
Analysis of distribution by the bulk of events recorded by the Kamiokande detector in the experiment conducted to measure flux of atmospheric neutrinos is carried out. Electron-like events near the boundaries of working volume are shown to consist of mixture of νe interactions with nucleons and neutrons with O16 nuclei. Neutrons are generated in showers induced by muons in ground. νμ/νe ratio in the detector central capacity ∼3 m distant from photomultipliers is close to the expected one. 2 refs.; 2 figs
