On the optimitation of radiochemical analyses of alpha emitters in air and precipitation-samples
Description
A radiochemical separation scheme based upon ion exchange only is an alternative to common procedures like Liquid-Liquid-Extraction (LLE) or Solid Phase Extraction (SPE). Recoveries for this separation scheme and U, Pu, and Am in air- and precipitation-samples are (89 ± 9) %. Time for electrodeposition of the actinides is nearly halved by enlarging the surface of electrodes and optimizing electrolyte composition. Both precision and grade of deposition are improved, namely (94 ± 9) % for a deposition in 25 minutes. (orig.)
