Evaluation of nucleon scattering cross section of 58Ni using the coupled-channels analysis with the soft-rotator model

  • 1. KAERI, Taejon (Korea, Republic of)

Description

Coupled channel analysis was applied based on the soft-rotator model to evaluate neutron and proton scattering cross sections of58 Ni. It was found that the model could describe the collective level structure of58 Ni, which does not exhibit the typical rotational nor harmonic vibrational structure, up to excitation energy of 4.5 MeV modestly. The nucleon scattering cross sections were described up to 150 MeV reasonably well by the coupled-channels method with a coupling scheme constructed consistent to the nuclear structure of58 Ni
