Description

The irradiation target of Fission Product Molybdenum (FPM) in the reactor core will generate heat. The heat is generated from U exp.235 fission, tube and stringer. The heat generation will be proportional to the neutron flux which produced from reactor core. The exchange of reactor core from using fuel element U3O8AI to U3 Si2AI will be influence to the neutron flux. The safety aspects of the irradiation facility with silicide core will be analyzed and discussed in this paper. The analysis is restricted only for irradiation facility producing molybdenum, irradiation position in the Central Irradiation Position (CIP). The calculation is done by using COBRA IV-1 package program to determine the U235 maximum quantity on the target FPM, with restrict Minimum Departure from Nucleat Boiling Ratio (MDNBR) and flow instability value (S). For safety, the MDNBR values must greather than 1.3 and flow instability must greater than equal 3.38. With the calculating of uncertainly the MDNBR value must greater than 1.93 and the minimum flow instability value is 4.39. The result of calculation show the maximum loaded every target is 10 grams U235not ever the safety restic. From the result of calculation we can conclude that U235on the FPM target can be irradiation in the silicide reactor core of mass until 10 grams and the reactor still save
