- 2. California Univ., Santa Barbara, CA (United States). Dept. of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering
Description
Individual Plant Examinations (IPEs) represent a key element of the Commission's integration plan for closure of severe accident issues. The plan has been published recently, and the IPE element of it has been defined in Generic Letter No. 88-20, sent to all licensees holding operating licenses and construction permits for nuclear power reactor facilities. The IPE process will involve a significant utility and NRC staff effort estimated to be completed within the next three years. The key aspects of this process are summarized and discussed in this paper
