Investigation of the angular distributions of the sputtered atoms of gold monocrystals

Description

Angular distributions of sputtered atoms of gold monocrystals have been investigated. The plane (110) of a gold monocrystal was bombarded with one-charged ions of argon, molecular and monatomic nitrogen of 70 keV energy. The autoradiographic technique was used to measure the space distribution of the sputtered atoms of a target. Radiographic prints corresponding to the angular distribution of sputtered substance on a collector have been produced. The distribution of the optical density of autoradiograms in spots near the directions of the type <110> constituting different angles with the direction of the ion beam, was measured in two directions mutually perpendicular: along traces of planes of the (100) and (110) types. Ratios of angular semiwidths of the spots measured along these plane traces are presented
