The weak plane gravitational wave and the motion of a test particle in the proper reference frame

Description

The metric of a weak plane gravitational wave in the proper reference frame is obtained by using a coordinate transformation. Thus the geodesic equation can directly be employed to determine the motion of test particles. The oscillations of a test particle are analysed and calculated. A significant result is that the particle oscillates also in the propagating direction of the wave. (Auth.)
