Thermal stability of triphenylguanidinium pertechnetate (C6H5NH)3CTcO4xH2O
Description
The compound of (C6H5NH)3CTcO4 H2O has been synthesized through a substitution reaction. The effect of the organic cation upon the structure and the thermal stability of tetrahedral TcO4- ion was studied. Infrared absorption spectra pointed to a distortion in the structure of the TcO4- ion and, in consequence, to a drop in the thermal stability of the complex of (C6H5NH)3CTcO4xH2O as compared to pertechnates of alkali metals. Differential-thermal and X-ray phase analysis techniques have established.the formation of the phases of TcO2 and metallic technetium as a function of conditions under which the compound is heated
