The influence of irradiation temperature on stresses in deformed polyethylene

Description

The low density polyethylene film was irradiated with scanned beam of 13 MeV electrons from Linac, in N2 atmosphere. The dosis of 200 kGy was applied by one or four runs of samples placed on a conveyor belt moving, with different speed. It means that the time of irradiation and temperature of samples were in both cases different. The deformation of strips and stress measurement were carried out on a 'Instron' machine. The differences of stresses observed on samples with different history was explained by different polymer structure. (author)
