Matter radius of two-neutron halo nucleus 22C
Description
The interaction cross section of the very neutron-rich carbon isotopes 19,20,22C has been measured on a carbon target at around 250 MeV/nucleon. A root-mean-squared matter radius of 22C was deduced as 3.44 ± 0.08 fm by analyzing the cross section with a four-body Glauber reaction model. This value is smaller than the previous estimate with 7 times smaller experimental uncertainty, while they are consistent by 2σ level. The present result is compared with recent theoretical estimates. (author)
