Covariant description of deuteron electrodisintegration

Description
The paper deals with covariant description of exclusi ed → e'pn in the quasielastic region. In the pole approximation making use of the covariant factorization method it is shown that the cross section totally factorizes taking into account virtuality of the intermediate nucleons and the contribution introduced by antiparticles. Convenient formulae for the cross sections are derived. The nucleon effective momentum distribution inside the deuteron is calculated correctly taking relativistic effects into account. It is shown that the available data can be interpreted making no use of quark and meson degrees of freedom and neglecting isobar configurations inside the deuteron
