Search for OPE effect in low-energy neutron scattering by nuclei

Description
The angular dependence of scattering of keV neutrons by odd-even sup(113,115)In, 127I and 209Bi and by neighbouring predominantly even nuclei Cd, Te and Pb has been measured. The potential scattering phase shifts for the Cd-In, Te-I, Pb-Bi pairs of neighbouring elements have been measured. A 20-30% difference has been found between the p amplitudes of the nuclear pairs studied. This difference is suggested to be due to the one-pion exchange between the incident neutron and the odd nucleon of the nucleus
