Multifunctional apparatus for nonperturbative photoelectron diagnostics of the high energy H- ion beams

Description

The proposed earlier by one of the authors photoelectron method of nonperturbative diagnostics of negative ion beams is briefly presented. The worked out multifunctional apparatus for realization of this method on linear area of the relativistic H- ion beam transfer line is described in detail. In this apparatus the photon targets probing the beam are formed by diaphragming the polarized radiation from ND:YAG-laser. The ion distributions in energy (pulse), transverse and longitudinal phase spaces are operatively determined through spatial distributions of the photoelectrons on the corresponding detectors after the 180 deg magnetic analyzer with a homogeneous field
