Instabilities of slowly rotating galaxies
Description
The location of instabilities in flattened, pressure-supported stellar systems is discussed. Oblate, prolate, and triaxial models of slowly rotating galaxies is examined. The role of instabilities in explaining the structure of observed galaxies is briefly considered. 47 refs
